Salary: Starting rate of $22.48 per hour
Required education: High school or equivalent
Required license or certification: Valid driver’s license, POPs Certification or equivalent, KY Department of Criminal Justice training certification or equivalent.
Minimum Officer Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- No convictions for a felony or domestic violence offense
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Candidates must pass a physical agility test
- Good driving, police, and employment record
- Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training Certification or equivalent
- POPs Certification
- Must adhere to the City of Pikeville Police Department Tattoo Policy (see policy excerpt below)
7. Tattoos, Brands, Body Mutilation
a. Visible tattoos and brands are prohibited for all police employees.
b. Members with existing tattoos and/or brands are prohibited from obtaining additional visible tattoos and/or brands
